EDITORIAL
The Axisweb Hardship Fund is now temporarily closed. Over the last few months we've helped support 110 artists with a combination of money diverted from our Awards programme and also our Gofundme page. The level of demand has been very high and we're sorry we can't help more of our members. We're still collecting donations however and will open up further rounds when funds permit.
We'd like to thank everyone that has applied and everyone who has donated to this important cause. The sense of community and support amongst our membership and from external friends and partners has been extremely humbling to us. #ArtistsSupportingArtists
We stand in solidarity with the Black community. We recognise there is still a lot to be done. As a small arts charity, we are currently processing what we can do to educate ourselves and improve our contribution to a greater diversity of voices within the arts. Here's a link to a document that is intended to serve as a resource for white people to deepen our anti-racism work. Document compiled by Sarah Sophie Flicker and Alyssa Klein in May 2020. #BlackLivesMatter
Our Artist of the Month for June 2020 is Quilla Constance. We talk to Quilla about her practice and her ‘Teasing out Contingencies’ project with Tate Exchange. #AoTM
