For #Five2Watch this week we've selected five artists who explore the hidden as part of their practice: Harriet Hill, Emily Hesse, Eve Dent, Matt Rowe and Louise Plant.
Karzy Camo, 2017
An installation in a toilet at Bread and Jam art house in Brockley.
Made from vinyl and the existing materials in the toilet (wallpaper, toilet roll etc).
I attempted to create a camouflage specially for this small, functional room.
Dark Horses, 2013
The strength found in a gaze. Sight lines. The power of the underdog.
Radiator, 2005
Anchor series: Ms Stubnitz, Newcastle Quayside.
Chroma Green Ghillie, 2014
Chroma key Green camoflarge Ghillie suit.
SKP1 Stealth and SKP2 Stealth, 2013-2014
Line drawings fabricated in mirror polished stainless steel; the thinnest possible structures allowed by engineering health and safety requirements. They evolve from the print series SKP 1 to 5 capturing fluid momentum and energy. SKP Stealth sculptures are there but not there; minimal reflective surfaces disappear the forms into their settings and dissolve each part of everything close into each other. With constantly changing weather and light, sometimes only black shadows or white reflective shadows indicate their presence. They are stealthy, sneaky and stand unnoticed unless noticed.
