Brean Down 26th July 2021: home to a couple of items of folklore. Somewhere offshore between this promontory and Wales, submerged in the Bristol Channel, lie The Green Meadows of Enchantment. Naturally, as with all such tales, If you come looking for them they will not reveal themselves. I came with another tale in mind. That of a fallen giant whose bones form the structure of Brean Down, which juts out into the Bristol Channel just to the south of Weston Super Mare. I didn't come looking but they weren't apparent in the distance.

The weather was bright and hot. Not ideal for my landscape photography to be honest. The colours of the landscape tend to be 'bleached out' on summer days like this. I did capture something on the southern side of the down when the sun briefly hid behind a cloud.
