Location: The Congress Theatre, Devonshire Quarter, Eastbourne, East Sussex

Clive Whitburn and Cliff Crawford are delighted to present their collaborative piece, Music for Rooftops, which will be performed high above the audience, outdoors in Devonshire Quarter behind the Congress Theatre at Eastbourne, East Sussex.
Internationally renowned Onyx Brass Quintet will perform music by James Maynard, Johannes Sebastian Bach, Dimitri Shostakovich, Malcolm Arnold, Charlotte Harding and Jason Rebello. After a short interval, the quintet will be joined by 3 further trumpets on top of The Welcome Building and Congress Theatre to perform Music for Rooftops.
The performance will feature a live, large screen, projection by Cliff Crawford who is providing a visual interpretation of Music For Rooftops. Cliff has taken the distinct quality of each movement and using Virtual Reality has translated it into a digital environment and distinct colour palette that responds to the music and environment of the performance. Working with VR supports the exploration of drawing as a gestural, kinaesthetic act and its development as a sculptural form.
An expression of hope, Music for Rooftops offers a unique opportunity after such a turbulent period. The music will ricochet and swirl majestically above the audience. The piece has three movements and takes the audience on an emotionally charged journey that will challenge, excite, inspire and enthral.
Music for Rooftops is made possible by Arts Council England funding and with the support of Eastbourne Borough Council and Cultural Group.
Tickets are priced at £12, to book: https://www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk/events/music-rooftops or call 01323 412000.
