    Artist Statement

With my recent body of work I am interested in themes of rivalry, status and power in human behaviour. I employ exaggeration, absurdity, subversion and role reversals to examine gender stereotypes and relationships.

I start new work with a narrative in mind and allow the painting process to evolve. I make observational line drawings and prints, which feed into my paintings. I use different surfaces; board, paper and canvas and use oils and acrylics.
