Artist Statement

Often about artwork itself, Jim's contemporary practice crosses a range of disciplines whilst retaining a consistent wry tone. His works are playful explorations of the complex relationship between artifact and viewer.

 

CV & Education

Jim is an MA graduate with ten years experience working in the arts, arts-education and running socially engaged projects. Experienced in creating, managing and delivering complex projects from festivals to workshop programmes for schools, as well as his live-art practice

He was awarded a DYCP grant from the arts council in 2019 to create a new body of work.

He was named as one of AXIS web’s ‘MAstars’ in 2010, recognising outstanding post-graduate work. In 2017 he was a speaker at the first TEDx Folkestone event, and was part of the faculty for Folkestone is An Art School (Folkestone Triennial 2017). In June of 2018 AXIS included him in their ‘five to watch’ list.
